It's Timmy Time

The day has come.  (well....not quite the day that Timmy becomes my BFF...that shall come soon.  I mean...we live in the same city.  No really...like within 10-15 miles of each other...don't judge me for knowing that.  So perhaps he is just not going to the same liquor stores as I am.)

But today is THE  Judgement Day that Timmy will start as QB and the Mile High City is pumped.  In fact, I'm pretty sure the fans would attack the field with pitchforks if this wasn't the case today.  Totally time for Orton-Hears-a-Boo to take a seat with a 1-4 record.  And looks like Pretty-Quinny is even inactive so we no longer have our Three Musketeers to debate over.

Even the Denver Post has a two page spread all About Timmy.  Five Things to Watch today:  Timmy, Timmy, and three more Timmys.  And even the Dolphins are honoring the 2008 Gators (as in the BCS champs when Tebow was the Q to the B) at today's game in Miami which means....a crap load of blue and orange #15's at this game.

The Post again says that Tebow is a human ATM machine where everyone makes money off of him.  Interesting.  Just how can I get in the action??  Calm down the dirty jokes here...I'm really just wanting that BFF card.  I mean, we have a damn good time here in the burbs and I think there is a place just for Timmy. Friday 4 of us adults managed to consume a very large amount of beers, watched our hubbies play nurf basketball for two hours, and had a party in the kitchen.  Saturday we detoxed at yoga just before we retoxed with mimosa's while walking to the neighborhood pumpkin festival, and even got in a two hour nap after a trip to Lowes.  I am pretty sure Tebow would love to join in our lifestyle.

Either way, I am p-u-m-p-e-d!!!  And to respond to my boy Stever who said, "Try not to lose your shit this Sunday"...Oh yes Stever...I will definitely be beyond excited, and will try with all my might to not lose my shit.

Game Day and Gator Gear

Its that time of year...When our Saturday mornings include making breakfast, drinking coffee, and watching College GameDay!!  It just completes my weekend and officially kicks off the start of Fall (minus the 90 plus degree weather we are having here in Denver).

But GameDay has it all.  Stats, predictions, highlights, and then even those heartfelt stories that just get ya.  In fact, some of my most homornal pregnant moments involved Herbstreit and gang such as my Tears for JoePa which you can read here

And on this beautiful Saturday, we are ordering our new Gator Gear for the whole fam.  Gator Guy picked this nice performance shirt:

Mr. T picked out this one:

And my favorite is this:

HOWEVER, they are sold out.   So help me pick my second choice.  I am leaning toward a long sleeve, but willing to adjust.  Which is your favorite???

Nutbags...All of Them

As a result of finally watching the shit show that the Bach Pad was this week....I just had to vent with my Dearest M about the complete awfulness and unnecessary tears.  Soooo many damn tears.

And my Dearest M was brilliant enough to say  "Nutbags...all of them!"

And so, I have decided to honor the crazies (& my Dearest M) and use the term "Nutbags" this weekend.  I think it will be a nice addition to my vocabulary and perhaps it will even make its way into a song as I serenade a crowd at karaoke this evening.

Effing nutbags.

Oh and ps....A big congratulations to Nevin Shapiro who receives the ultimate Nutbag Award.  Please read this article if you have not heard about the Miami scandal and to also impress your sports lover with fun facts. But let me just tell you, if you look up the definition of "small man complex", you shall see Nevin's face.  No worries...this dude is already in prison, so no hurt feelings for any brutal comments you make about him.  Let's hear it!

Red Rover Red Rover...Send the Huskers on Over

I realize that not all my BFFs, gal pals, and blog buddies share the same sports enthusiasm that I do.  But you can always say just enough to spark that conversation with your sports lover hubby that it will make him drop his jaw that you now know more than the mascots or team colors.  Perhaps your "new found love" for sports and conversation starters will bring you breakfast in bed, the laundry folded, or even a nice back rub.  At least worth the try.

Tonight you can ask:

"So what do you think about the shake up in the Big 12?"
The Big 12 is (or was) a college conference that included:  Baylor, CU, Iowa State, KU, K-State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, OSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech.  Just this week, sources say that the Nebraska CornHuskers will move to the Big Ten (which includes big wigs such as Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Michigan State).

This has created quite the buzz in the sports world and other teams are now making the talk to move to other conferences, such as the Pac-10 (includes USC, Cal, Oregon, ASU, UCLA). The CU Buffs just formally announced their move to the Pac.

What does this mean for your sports lover?  Well some will enjoy the new competition.  While others are mad as hell that their beloved teams will no longer play the traditional rivals.  Some worry that their teams will become the easy win for the big wigs in the new conference. What does this mean for the schools?  More moo-lah!  Let's face it, its all about the money, and so making the move will create better TV deals and give more money to the school.

**Fun fact you can squeeze in:  Notre Dame is not a part of any conference.  They have a sweet deal with NBC and hope to keep it that way.  We shall see after all this conference Red Rover.

"What do you think about USC's punishment?"
As seen on espn, the USC football program will receive a two-year post season ban, a reduction in scholarships, and a forfeiture of wins from at least the 2004 season.  YIKES.  This is all because of recruiting and academic fraud that happens years ago.

Why is this such controversy?  Well for one, the former head coach, Pete Carroll just recently jumped ship and now coaches the Seahawks (NFL team...I know its confusing).  None of the players from that time are still at the school.  Therefore, fans are saying the USC President and Athletic Director are the ones that should be held responsible, not the poor 18 year olds that just signed up to play for their dream team.

"Should they strip Reggie Bush's Heisman?"
Ladies, you know Reggie Rush...he's the former BF of Kim Kardashian. The NCAA has investigated to see if Bush and his family took improper benefits back in the day.  It might conclude to find Reggie Bush retroactively ineligible, and the Heisman Trust could strip him of his 2005 award.  Some say so what??  Others still remember the disappointment it was to see Marion Jones stripped of her Olympic Golds.  Either way, its the hot topic today.

Ps...The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup last night.  Beat the Flyers 4-3 in overtime.  This the first win for the Windy City team in 49 years!  Do I hear post season  for the Cubs and Bears coming as well??  (My vote is no as long as Cry Baby Cutler is QB, but I am obviously a little biased).
