Motivated...

Recently, Gator Guy got a tattoo down his side that says "Motivated"...written in an ancient runic language.  It is pretty sweet actually.  (And I am definitely pondering the idea of one myself some day.  However, I still image how much pain he appeared to be in, so we shall see.)

Recently, I sometimes joke about just how "Motivated" Gator Guy is.  I mean, the Man does anything he puts his mind to, and that is one of the biggest qualities I absolutely adore about him. But the truth is...I'm jealous.  He honestly has a drive that carries him to the next level.  He worked out for 30 days in the month of January...yes 30, and even with some of them being two-a-days.  Some may call him obsessed, but I see it as determination.  Drive.  Motivation.

Today is a blizzard.  And I thought again of his "Motivated" tattoo while My Dearest E and I were walking into yoga after driving in 14-22 inches of snow that have pretty much shut down the metro area.  Yes, it felt good to get out of the house, but more than anything, I realized that we too are "Motivated".  Because it is always the just that first step out the door that is the hardest, right?  I may not have the tattoo, but Gator Guy sure does inspire me.

Yogis Know Best

Its only 10 more miles...

Tomorrow I will be running a half marathon....in which I have done essentially zero training for.  Well wait a minute, I suppose I have done some yoga and a few 3 mile runs here and there, so I should be good....right?  It's only 10 more miles after that!!

This will either be a disaster, or an accomplishment to show me that I don't have to obsessively plan and train for my half and full marathons any more.  We shall see.  (Wish me luck!!)

ps...we are camping the night before and night after.  Seriously...wish me luck and have a beer ready at the finish line  ;)

Why Hello Timmy & Your Ginormous Biceps

Let me take a moment to compose myself and calm down the blushing and racing heartbeat.  Yes, my Dearest K just sent me this pic of Tebow and boy did that make my day!  (Deep Breath)

However, I am a little sad that I did not get an invite to play this round with him.  I mean....is he not getting the point that I am his soon-to-be-BFF???  A friend of mine said on FB she was shocked that I haven't sent him connecting BFF necklaces.  I think this will be my next move.

Goodness...not that necklace.  This one.  Only as long as I get to be Be Fri.  Totally better than St Ends.

Just What I Needed

Every now and then I have one of those days where I just can't seem to slow down.  My mind continues to race a million miles per hour and my heart won't stop pounding.  Today...was one of those days.

And today is yet another day where I have to thank my dearest e for introducing me to Yoga.  Tonight we went to candle lit heated class and I absolutely loved it.

I am also now beginning to realize that Yoga is not just standing in a lunge with your arms out.  It is truly engaging all parts of your body...oh and while not thinking about it and concentrating on your breathing.  Yeah...I am still working on all of that.  But I can now say that yoga is not just stretching for long periods of a time, which is what I used to think.

Now, I know it is so much more.  Now, I know that I need yoga.  Maybe not every day, but from time to time to calm me and challenge me all at the same time.  So thanks again e!  You have created an addict.

Holy Hot Yoga

Ready.....Cue the music:

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

This morning, I went with my dearest e to my very first Hot Yoga class.  I remember when the yoga craze first started and I thought...eh, that's not really for me.  I really like to sweat when I work out.

Umm...I'm pretty sure I have never sweat so much in my life.   Seriously, I could have wrung a good amount from my shirt.  And I freaking loved it.  The best part was that the instructor played real music (like Florence & The Machine playing above), and not just the sounds of ooo's and ommm's like other classes I have been to.
Exercise is always my release.  When I have long days, good days, or tired days, the best thing for me is to get off my butt and head to the gym, track, or trail.  I never regret a workout after I get there.  I just need to always remember how good I feel afterward.  But  Yoga was a new kind of release.  One where I could really focus on not stressing out about all the To Do's in every day life.  Thanks e for taking me along!
So add Hot Yoga to The Shed (and keep the shed) list:
1.  Running
3.  Hot crazy yoga

She is going to kick my ass

Today is the day.  Today is my first training session with a kick-your-ass-she-might-as-well-be-named-Jillian-Michaels trainer at our local gym.  No seriously, she has to be a distance twin of Ms. Jillian.  I have seen her work, seen her push her clients, and have taken her boot camp class.  And she Kicks Ass.  Kicks your ass.  Kicks my ass.  Kicks everyone's ass.
But this is what I wanted.  This is what I asked for. After the Marathon, I needed a new challenge to kick my ass.  I may be able to run for hours, but when it comes to the gym, I often wonder if I would be able to complete any of the workouts I see on the Biggest Loser.

And so...when signing up for my sessions, I told her, "I want to really be pushed.  Pushed to a new level."

WTF was I thinking?  She really is going to Kick my ass!!  I am nervous now.  She knows I'm ready to be pushed and I am nervous to see what my evening will bring.  I am banking on not walking much tomorrow.

(Kick Ass count in today's blog:   8)
